PORTLAND – The alleged driver in Friday’s pursuit and crash into Gales Creek was arrested Tuesday afternoon in Portland by members of the North Plains Police Department with assistance from the Portland Police Bureau, according to a press release issued by the Washington County Sheriff’s Office on behalf of the North Plains Police Department.
Jeremiah Libbee, 23, was charged with third-degree assault, attempt to elude, reckless endangering, reckless driving, and driving while criminally suspended.
He is currently being held at the Washington County Sheriff’s Office.
The passenger in the vehicle, identified as a 21-year-old Gaston woman, is in a stable condition at a Portland hospital, according to the North Plains Police Department.
She is considered a victim in the ongoing investigation.
