GALES CREEK VALLEY – A rotten tree limb snapped and fell onto Gales Creek Road between Stringtown Road and Creekwood Place, taking out power for at least 15 customers this morning.

Portland General Electric crews have been dispatched to clean up the tree and fix the power lines, with expected delays on Gales Creek Road, which has been reduced to one lane, for about an hour, as of 9 a.m. Tuesday morning.

Update, 9:15 a.m.: City of Forest Grove staff, common sights in the Gales Creek Valley as they drive to the city-owned watershed located in Gales Creek on Clear Creek, came upon the downed tree and have called in a city public works crew to clean up the tree on the county maintained road. According to Forest Grove Fire & Rescue, this should result in a much shorter wait for the road to fully reopen.
