Report: Oregon election offices are underfunded, understaffed heading into 2024
Local election offices throughout Oregon are understaffed and underfunded headed into the 2024 presidential election cycle, according to a “grim” report presented to state lawmakers Tuesday.

Candidates for school, fire board weigh in
On Tuesday, May 16, polls will close on another special district election. That night and the following days after, ballots—picked up from ballot boxes, trickling in through the mail—will be counted, tallied, and the next batch of citizens who threw their hat into the ring to represent local residents on school, fire, recreation, and other districts will be determined.

For the upcoming May 16 election, the deadline to register to vote or update your registration is Tuesday, April 25.
Democrat Tina Kotek is Oregon’s next governor
The Associated Press called the race in Kotek’s favor Thursday evening, after several counties reported the votes of tens of thousands of outstanding ballots. Kotek’s lead over Drazan has continued to grow over the past several days as more votes were reported from Multnomah County, the state’s most populous and where Kotek won nearly 70% of the vote.
Oregon governor race is two-way contest between Kotek, Drazan
Oregon’s race for governor is a two-way contest between Democrat Tina Kotek and Republican Christine Drazan, early election results showed.
With more than 1 million votes counted as of 8:40 p.m. Tuesday, Kotek held a narrow lead over Drazan. Nonaffiliated candidate Betsy Johnson was in a distant third and conceded shortly after 8:30.

For the upcoming November 8 election, the deadline to register to vote or update your registration is Tuesday, October 18. Online, mail, and in-person options exist to do this.
