Mon Sept 22 – Cloudy. I made some blackberry jelly, canned 2 qut prunes, 2 peas. Gladie went fishing. Dick went hunting up by Cochran, got back about 3. Mattie came over, got some pears.
Tue Sept 23 – Cloudy & sunshine. I made some apple pies. We picked dryed beans. Dick went hunting. Gladie went horse back riding in p.m. It rained some. Troy & Bob came over after supper awhile.
Wed Sept 24 – Cloudy & sunshine. I did a wash, then we fixed a new well porch. Dick & Troy went up to Cochran hunting, got nothing, got back about 3. Gladie fixed up 4 sets clam shells.
Thur Sept 25 – Rainy. I put up 6 pint of chipped pickles, 9 qut tomatoes. Charley fixed a new porch floor out front. Dick helped. I helped nail the boards on. Afternoon, Gladie went to a show, I guess.
Fri Sept 26 – Cloudy & sunshine. We did usual work. Dick went hunting up on summit. Charley disced. Ted & Thelma came down after supper.
Sat Sept 27 – Rainy. We did our usual Sat. work. Dick went down home about 8 o’clock, he had been up just a week. I made 15 qut of cucumber pickles for Ted & Thelma. Gladie & I went to town in afternoon. It cleared away and was real nice. We got us a new dress at Miller’s Store, got a new cotton blanket. We got home soon after 4. Billie & Elsie came after supper to stay all nite. We got the new batteries for radio at Loomis & Modine’s payed $5.60 for it. Ted & Thelma went to town after supper.
Sun Sept 28 – Cloudy & sunshine. I did a lot of cooking, made first pumpkin pies. Gladie went for a ride in afternoon & stayed for a show. The rest of us stayed home. It rained hard in afternoon. Billie & Elsie went home about 8:30. All of Kendall’s came up to Ted & Thelma’s today.
