–Gladys and Roy Bills (written as Mr. B. or Mr. Bills), Esther and Charles’ third-born and her boyfriend.

Thur Oct 8 – A dandy day. Did up usual work and then finished my dress. Dick came about 11:30 to deer hunt. Went up in mountains right afternoon got back at 4, had nothing. Gladie went out some place after supper. I made Joanne 2 little dresses out of Gladie’s gingham dresses after noon. 

Fri Oct 9 – A fine day. Did usual work. Done ironing. Killed a chicken for supper. Gladie made a cake. I fixed over Gladie’s blue skirt and a sweater. Dick went hunting over the hump started at 6:30, got back about 4 with no luck. He stayed till after supper then went home. I made Ronnie a little romper suit in p.m. 

Sat Oct 10 – A beautiful day. Did our usual Sat. work. Took a bath. Did not go to F.G. today, had no money. We fooled around all afternoon. 

Sun Oct 11 – A beautiful day. Did up morning work early. Then I got ready and went with Billie & Elsie to Portland. They came about 8:45, we got down to Mrs. Paris about 10. Elsie’s brother Fred and wife and Bobbie were there came from Bend. We stayed for dinner and lunch in the evening. Started home at 7. Stopped in F. G. took in a show. Edmond Low in “Transatlantic”. 

Mon Oct 12 – Cloudy and Misty. We did our usual work. I made 2 pairs of rompers for Ronnie in fore noon. Then we slept in p.m. Oliver came about 4. Stayed all nite. Ted & Thelma came after supper. Stayed till after 8. 

Tue Oct 13 – A fine day. Did our usual work. Afternoon, G.D., Gladie & I went to F.G. Joanne’s 10th month birthday. 

Wed Oct 14 – A nice day. I put out a wash real early. Gladie made some cookies. I wrote letters. Slept a bit in p.m. Oliver came again, stayed all nite.
