“It’s important for travelers to understand that Timber Road will remain closed during construction,” LUT Public Information Officer Chris Lueneburg said in an email to this newspaper. “Workers will be on site and we will be excavating the slope. We’re hoping to reopen the road by the end of the year.”

Early July timeline for Stringtown Road closure postponed
A project to replace a small bridge on Stringtown Road, which will require an extended road closure, has been delayed again. Once the project is underway, a popular rural route will be closed for construction, possibly for several months this summer if the the quadruply-delayed project finally happens.

It’s been seven months since Timber Road closed between downtown Timber and Highway 6. Washington County is eyeing a number of options for a fix and may seek funding from FEMA to repair Timber Road.
