The 16th annual Gales Creek Community National Night out, absent since the onset of the pandemic, returned Tuesday night in full force.

The 16th Annual Gales Creek Community National Night Out is scheduled to begin at 6 p.m. Tuesday, August 1, marking the return of one of the largest community events in Gales Creek since the onset of the pandemic.

“If you’re interested in making a difference in your community, this is your chance,” FGF&R said, noting that no firefighting experience was needed to apply to be a volunteer firefighter.

The Gales Creek National Night Out, on hiatus since the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, is coming back. A meeting Thursday evening at the Gales Creek Library is hoping to draw volunteers to help.

Dozens of Gales Creek residents past and present dropped by an open house to commemorate 50 years of firefighting in Gales Creek Saturday, filling the station with memories and learning as visitors flipped through documents, viewed photographs, and reminisced.

An open house to commemorate the 50+ years volunteer firefighters have served Gales Creek will be held Saturday at the Gales Creek Fire Station from 1 to 4 p.m.

Volunteer members of the Gales Creek Cemetery Association have been hard at work sprucing up the grounds in advance of Memorial Day.

The Gales Creek Garden Club will host their annual plant sale in downtown Gales Creek Wednesday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
